Bottled-Up Emotional::

It's girls night out tonight, plus me, at Hollywood's Avalon. Tonight's plan is to say hello to Josh, the Samoan bouncer, he'll mosey us in. I'll let the girls powder their faces as I say hello to Bree, the Brooklyn brunette bartender. I'll have a round of Cadillac margaritas and tequila shots awaiting the girls' arrival. After that, it's free drinks all night from my New York Doll. Then we await the performance of LAZRtag, in addition to Kids at the Bar, and BetaTraxx.

Throwback Thursday: Donna Summer

[1975] Donna Summer - Love To Love You Baby (Disco Syndicate's shortened love affair recut) by Disco Syndicate

Nothin wrong with a classic here and there. As a person who's always making electronic music, It feels good to listen to different genres to cleanse my brain. One can only take so many oscillators filters in a day. Donna Summers soothing serenade always does the ears good.

Better Than Wands::

All roads lead to Star Wars. It's possible that Lucas' baby is by far the most alluded, um, thing? - story, movie, piece of art, Americana - name something else. It's flabbergasting to observe society leaning towards entertainment rather than reality.

Where's the U.S. President from? 'I-o-no.'
Where's Darth Vader from? 'Tatooine.'

I suppose everything, in theory, is a form of entertainment, just to fill the void before we get struck by The Lightsaber.

Oopart contributes to this abyss of referential treatment towards "...the dark side." I contribute my nineteen-millionth piece of interesting void-filler (cue balloons release):

Shiny Toy Pun::

Today I feel like a constructive plaything - a toy. I've been used, abused and tossed aside. At least she has finally grown up and has uttered some matter of argument rather than furnish the predictable silent treatment. Some advice from the experienced: when you first meet someone and the first answer they spew out is a lie, you had better about-face and ogle some other beautiful disaster.

Rave Is The New Riot::

Boys Noize Records is featuring this new track by Glaskuppel, naming it Audionite. It's significantly a Boys Noize influential group but with a nudge to the left with the dynamics. As we don't hear as much Boys Noize creations lately, at least it's good to hear those artists that are heavily influenced by the legends of the past.

Huh, War...Good God::

Although I actually enjoy listening to Avicii's original version of Levels, this Clockwork remix likes to kiss the trance side a bit and redeems itself to more clubbers. Not only can you play this track in the main hall but also in the little nook in the back where the don't-enter-my-boxed-area dancers like to get into the zone and perform their beatnik bebop.

Staring Causes Blindness::

This remix is made with half Duck Sauce and half the fat of other remixes out there listed as "must download." Bag Raiders, to start off, have their own significant percentage of taste-good background crisp, a bittersweet reminiscent sensation. Then you get the coating of Van Helden's 90s Euro-house to make it a nutritious bite. Taste it for yourself:

Patience Brings Relief::

Here's something that's come out of the blue that perks my ears: Vitalic - Second Lives. Another something that has perked my ears is answering a random call from an old crush who's interested in meeting up for lunch. It only took her seven years to fulfill my fantasy. But wait, let me bask in my good karma before I realize the true nature of the meeting. Calm, listen:

It's A Dream Sandwich::

There are so many electronic artists out there that sometimes you realize you've been tardy getting to know how pleasant-sounding those DJs can be. The example is Aerotronic. I'm positive I've listened to quite a few tracks in the past of Aerotronic's but never really took much notice. These things happen with movies too. You watch it the first time, you're perplexed and then tell your friends that you cared little for the flick. Then one day, you're bored, channel surfing, and you give the movie another shot on your tube and you've realized, "Oh, I think I get what Inception is about now."

Marge, I Lost The Radio Again::

It's amazing how you could listen to this Eskimo Twins rework on a microscopic radio device, um, right about now. Scientists have found time from their busy lives of cancer, global warming, and endangered species research to figure out how small of a radio is possible to create. At one micron long and 10,000th the size of one of my hairs, these radio nanotubes are the future. Of course they'll probably make them a tad bigger for the public so they can still fit all the commercials in between the music blocks.
