It's A Dream Sandwich::

There are so many electronic artists out there that sometimes you realize you've been tardy getting to know how pleasant-sounding those DJs can be. The example is Aerotronic. I'm positive I've listened to quite a few tracks in the past of Aerotronic's but never really took much notice. These things happen with movies too. You watch it the first time, you're perplexed and then tell your friends that you cared little for the flick. Then one day, you're bored, channel surfing, and you give the movie another shot on your tube and you've realized, "Oh, I think I get what Inception is about now."

Marge, I Lost The Radio Again::

It's amazing how you could listen to this Eskimo Twins rework on a microscopic radio device, um, right about now. Scientists have found time from their busy lives of cancer, global warming, and endangered species research to figure out how small of a radio is possible to create. At one micron long and 10,000th the size of one of my hairs, these radio nanotubes are the future. Of course they'll probably make them a tad bigger for the public so they can still fit all the commercials in between the music blocks.

He Is You::

Dining in West Hollywood today, I saw a familiar face: A-Trak, Alain Macklovitch. He was two tables down from our table. I'm the type that likes to say hello whether or not people see me. So I took it on myself to get up, walk over and greet. I realize people look a lot different fifteen feet away compared to three feet away. Turns out it's just A-trak's doppelgänger from the Upper-West-Side of New York.

Here's one, you think there's at least one person out there who has a list of celebrity doppelgängers they hope to encounter?

20/20 Foresight::

Owl Vision's recent creation called Deathstar is like a tuner car, with it's single-chamber muffler emissions, suction butterfly doors, smooth gear transitions, and the whole thing skims with even shape and minimal wind resistance.

Face to Face::

Have you ever been in a relationship where you just weren't sure where it was going to go? Where you ask yourself pros and cons to come to a solution as to how to resolve the fate of the relationship? Where you feel love but on the other hand you also feel the distance?

Well, have you?

Blurred Vision::

This week I've been hopped up on pain meds, due to an unscheduled accident with a rock and another hard rock. So I've been daydreaming all day about random thoughts. This thought was most prominent. I was imagining that I was breathing my last breaths and all I could hear was this song - which, coincidentally, was playing in the background - Madrigal by Boy 8-Bit. I thought to myself, "This is a good song, but inappropriate." Then I asked myself, "What would be an appropriate song to hear during my last breaths of life?"

Your O-Prah Face::

What pleases my ears about this track is the use of the myriad of instrument-takes for the melody, as well as throughout the track in its entirety. It has a slower pace which enhances the track and sets it apart from a lot of those daily dimes that sound too rambunctious for it's element.

Eyes Without a Face::

The world has lent an ear to the band Gorillaz' repertoire of hit songs, but we lose the chance to recognize the individual artists by face because all of their music videos are animated. Compare this to the notoriety of Anthony Kiedis and Dave Grohl who are center stage on their music videos. You'll have to go to the concert or await until a new album debuts when Gorillaz performs for a nightly comedy talk show. This is the same with deejays. We usually only hear what they have to offer but the mystery goes: What does he look like? Or, should we consider leaving it a mystery to prolong the mystique of their artistry.

Blip...Blip::

One of my fave flave remixes is Ne.Oh!.Pen. Boys Noize (Danger Remix). The remix has one of those sounds you don't hear all the time in remixes any more. Of course 8-bit synths have been around for the longest time and I have no problem with it coming back. Retro is en vogue and Danger knows how to master the style.

iTEAM::

It's always a team effort. Start with an artist. Come up with some lyrics. Another artist will come up with a background track. Another artist will mix it together and put it out there. Another artist will remix it and put it out there. The first artist will collaborate with the latter artist to make a whole new track and the process circumnavigates. Will there ever be a point where music ends? I hope not. PLAY ON!
