Your O-Prah Face::

What pleases my ears about this track is the use of the myriad of instrument-takes for the melody, as well as throughout the track in its entirety. It has a slower pace which enhances the track and sets it apart from a lot of those daily dimes that sound too rambunctious for it's element.

Eyes Without a Face::

The world has lent an ear to the band Gorillaz' repertoire of hit songs, but we lose the chance to recognize the individual artists by face because all of their music videos are animated. Compare this to the notoriety of Anthony Kiedis and Dave Grohl who are center stage on their music videos. You'll have to go to the concert or await until a new album debuts when Gorillaz performs for a nightly comedy talk show. This is the same with deejays. We usually only hear what they have to offer but the mystery goes: What does he look like? Or, should we consider leaving it a mystery to prolong the mystique of their artistry.

Blip...Blip::

One of my fave flave remixes is Ne.Oh!.Pen. Boys Noize (Danger Remix). The remix has one of those sounds you don't hear all the time in remixes any more. Of course 8-bit synths have been around for the longest time and I have no problem with it coming back. Retro is en vogue and Danger knows how to master the style.

iTEAM::

It's always a team effort. Start with an artist. Come up with some lyrics. Another artist will come up with a background track. Another artist will mix it together and put it out there. Another artist will remix it and put it out there. The first artist will collaborate with the latter artist to make a whole new track and the process circumnavigates. Will there ever be a point where music ends? I hope not. PLAY ON!

Vegas: Summer's Year Round::

I have noticed that heatwaves delight in coinciding with holiday weekends. I remember when Memorial Day weekend hit and suddenly the wave came in and washed right out in a few days. Then the sequel arrived for the 4th. Perhaps it's the climate's way of telling us it's summertime. Of course it is. No school. No clothes. No responsibility. That should sum it up, right?

The Mars Attax::

I've got soul and I'm super good. Who else is super good? Swimsuit models who offer me White Russians with a petite yellow umbrella and a soothing back rub. Maybe DJs From Mars might fit in the same category but I'll let them massage those soothing mashups. You know, the ones that contain at least two ear-pleasing songs that morph into a megatronic eargasm ensemble.

Stand by who? YOU!

Yea who woulda thought this track could be turned into such an anthem! The Rock-it scientists have done it again, and they've got this thing down to a science for sure.

Yawnfest::

Suppose you need to stay up for 72 hours and have to consume your whole supply of coffee beans and energy drinks, what kind of music would you select to help you stay awake? Some might choose A Flock of Seagulls, I opt for the fidget factor. It's either The Bloody Beetroots or Sinden. Now it's off to the grocery for refills. Whew....deadlines.

Aum...Aum:

I've decide to feature KOAN Sound today because, a middle-aged geometry teacher interrupted my interesting conversation, on pheromones with long time buddy, Brittany Snow (the other one), and chimed in on his own anecdote about how his wife finds his odorous sweaty scent delightful. Then Brittany concurred that it's factual that women find men's sweat subconsciously arousing. For me, it's like a punch in the ugly mug when some rank fawn ambles by, sporting her en vogue damp zones and perspiration freckles.

Cue Faders, Go::

A digitally mystical experience comes in the shape of a musical creation by Mord Fustang, called Magic Trooper. Electro is it's might and the dyslexic-monikered artist is a sight to see and hear, live, front row left center. But if only I had used the restroom before, then I wouldn't be in such a predicament right now.
